About Us

Our history is bigger than you think

Spokane Valley’s city limits stretch well beyond the boundaries most people believe exist.

The Spokane Valley Heritage Museum covers the history of our city and beyond. We tell the stories of pioneers and orchard farmers from the old Spokane Bridge near Stateline and tales of the settlers from Prairie in the north to Rockford in the south.

We offer engaging, informative exhibits, introducing you to the people, places and events that made the Valley happen. The Valley’s roots lie in the strength, courage and desire of the settlers who were in search of the American dream.

They built homes from the river rock, they tilled the land and grew apples and canteloupes, and they created the community we know today.

The Museum’s goal is to collect, preserve and exhibit the history and culture of Spokane Valley. We have catalogued more than 150 years of artifacts, archives, photos, maps and other documents.

What our visitors say

I’m from a small town, been to lots of community historical museums and yours is definitely on a level far superior to most. Good content, specific to your community (which is what I was looking for as I’m not from the northwest), & presentation is fantastic! Colorful, clean … feels alive & as you all care. Keep up the good work!
