The Spokane Valley Museum is launching a project to engage the community in assisting with our effort to collect and preserve the impact of COVID-19 (Corona Virus) on our community.
This is an unprecedented historic situation we all find ourselves in. We are literally living history; and we recognize the significance of this collective experience for future generations to learn about and understand.
Every sector of the community has been affected by the Corona Virus. We encourage the community to share stories and photos that exemplify how people have come together to help those who are out of work, sick with the virus; and those who’s businesses have been reduced to drive thru or take out. There are so many more stories to share as well, such as how people are creatively coping with the “Stay at Home” policy in Washington State.
The safety and health of the public is our first concern. Please do not put yourself in harm’s way or violate any public health rules. We encourage you to mail or scan and email stories, photos or other examples of how this virus has inspired the community to reach out to others.
Any and all efforts to combat the Corona Virus will be accepted.
Preserving this time in our history is the Spokane Valley Museum’s mission. We are planning an exhibit that will capture this time in stories, photos and other examples of the impact on; and response from the community. Content will include comparing and contrasting this time with the Spanish Flu of 1918.
Thank you for participating!
