Remembering Bert Porter

Bert Porter

With hearts that are heavy, but also full of gratitude, we say farewell to one of the Spokane Valley Museum’s family and a long time advocate and supporter of the Museum.

Bert Porter was born in 1928 on a farm on 4th Ave in Veradale. He remained in the Valley all of his 92 years except for 4 years in the United States Air Force.

Growing up during the depression, Bert learned the value of hard work and the importance of community. He was raised in the church and spent his life making the lives of others easier.

Bert will long be remembered for his love of the Spokane Valley and his commitment to preserving its unique history. He also worked hard behind the scenes to make the Valley the best place to live.

We are all grateful for his guidance, wisdom and sincere generosity of spirt. He truly was a gift beyond measure.

We will share memorial service plans when they are finalized.
