Dear Friends of the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum,
Corporate investments in the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum can play significant and valuable roles in helping to further our mission of keeping the greater Spokane Valley’s history alive and preserving its heritage for future generations. Together we can expand the museum’s efforts to provide memorable visitor experiences for youth, families and those looking for a connection to our region’s past. Among the many ways we are furthering our vision and goals are through excellent permanent exhibits, along with new and rotating ones, including occasional exhibits from the Smithsonian. The living-history exhibits, tours, and local and regional history presentations influence, inform and inspire a connection with our past.
The Museum does not receive any direct local or state governmental funding. Our funding comes from donations, fundraising events, grants and the support of people and businesses in our community. Corporate business investments help to fund engaging exhibits, major restoration projects, and educational programs that offer opportunities for lifelong learning.
Looking into the future, the SVHM Board of Directors is assessing how best to serve our community with our facility, the original Opportunity Township Hall, built in 1912. Over the years, we have made significant renovation and restoration upgrades to our existing space. To continue our ongoing stewardship of this historic building, along with looking toward necessary expansion to meet our growing needs, we have established the Herman H. Meier Building Fund.
